This new original concert-play was an epic collaboration between playwright Seth Moore and musical group The Lobbyists. Together, we took over the Melville Gallery at the South Street Seaport and brought the room back to its roots, filling it with sea shanties and mythical tales of leviathan haunting forlorn sailors at the height of the new American whaling boom. The lighting design weaved the songs and book together. It was a challenging space full of wooden columns as old as the story we were telling, but using a rig of almost entirely moving lights and LED fixtures, we brought the story to life for an unforgettable theatrical experience.
