In this large-scale musical directed by Steve Cosson of The Civilians, we sought to leave behind some of the cartoonish and caricatured worlds of past productions and dig into more of the seedy underbelly of Damon Runyon’s New York City. With the skyline muted through the smog and the street lamps casting long shadows on the pavement, lighting told this story.
